Olivier (Gérard Depardieu), often wandering the streets, stumbles upon Elena"s (Bulle Ogier) home with a friend to sell books. By chance, they stumble upon her studio—a basement filled with perverted paraphernalia. It turns out Elena is a high-class prostitute offering torture services to numerous men. Drawn into a game, Olivier falls head over heels for the beautiful and voluptuous Elena, inviting her to dinner and the two begin a relationship.
