Happy to death

In 1999, during South Korea"s economic recession, Min-ki (Choi Min-sik), a bank employee, was laid off and became unemployed, spending his days idly reading novels. His wife, Bo-ra (Jeon Do-yeon), was the principal of an English kindergarten, filled with disgust for herĶĒ·Ļ (ĶĒ·Ļ is a difficult word to translate directly, but it implies a state of listlessness, apathy, and lack of motivation) husband. Around this time, Bo-ra rekindled her old flame with her former lover. However, Bo-ra didn"t want to abandon her family, but she struggled to balance her family and her lover. Eventually, Min-ki discovered his wife"s affair and, unable to bear it any longer, killed her, intending to frame her lover for his own death.
